Fun Filled Fourth

Oh my goodness we had such a fun fourth!

We went to Roanoke and hung out with our friends Jeremy and Starr on the 3rd... This girl makes me so happy and we are so blessed to have a couple like them in our lives! I mean seriously... she makes my favorite meal, so definitely a keeper! :)

We stayed at Papaw and Grammy's house and woke up to a relaxing morning of playing. At lunchtime we met Grandad, Mawmaw, and Uncle Nathan for lunch at Red Robin. Yum. Seriously, delicious - we miss having one close by!

After lunch Mawmaw took me to bath and body works cause she is in the know when it comes to those coupons! :) The boys and Sadie played in the play area and then we ended the outing with yummy cookies!  It was so good to see them!

Our friends had their baby girl on Tuesday and it was so hard waiting until Friday to meet precious Teagan! She is such a cutie! We enjoyed catching up with them all afternoon - playing outside and snuggling with the yummy baby goodness! :) The Kleiners brought food and we played a new game - Wits and Wagers.

We headed near the hospital with the Kleiners to watch the fireworks. Peyton was so funny. All afternoon he knew he had to wait for 'dark' to watch the fireworks. So once it was getting dark he kept yelling "DARK! see? boom boom!!" "boom booms where are you??"He thought it was a little loud but had talked about it all week since - expected them every time it gets dark! Sadie just stared the whole time. We were so grateful it didn't scared her!

We had such a great time celebrating our freedom!!

Thankful

We stayed home this year for Thanksgiving, and family came to us. My mom, the Naff clan, and Memaw and Larry came for yummy food and chaos with the littles. My is it chaotic with five kids five and under. I can already see friendships forming and I just love thinking about those cousins beings close forever! It was a day full of food, running around, painting, watching the parade, playing Kinect, playing outside in the perfect weather, attempting some Christmas pictures, and a whole lot of loving! We were so grateful that no one got sick... although Owen ended the day with stitches and by Saturday my mom had the flu. :( Oh well, holidays with this family can't possibly be 'adventure' free!

my first 4th!

Peanut had a great first Fourth of July. Mommy and Peyton started it out by sleeping in while Daddy diligently woke up and cleaned pools like he does every morning. Our friends Melanie and Austin were in town so Austin and Daddy went golfing in the blazing hear while we continued to relax at home. There hasn't been enough of that lately.

Around 5 we grabbed some Subway and headed to Rivers Edge where we go most years to watch fireworks. We chatted with friends and listened to loud live music. Also in the mix was a storm which required everyone on the fields to camp out in a parking garage for about 45 minutes. It ended up being a wonderful and breezy evening. P fell asleep before the fireworks started and slept through the first half of them. Then he woke up and just stared for the rest of the show. He was so wonderful the whole evening... although I think it has taken him three or four days to catch up on his sleep since he didn't get to bed until around 11.

What's important

I'm getting pretty bad at taking pictures... I never seem to think about it while I'm in the middle of a gathering, but always remember afterwards. So while Thanksgiving festivities did not get captured, I did take a few pictures of my two favorites... and really, that's all that matters, right? I'm sure when my own little one comes I will be WAY better with getting my camera out... probably to the annoyance of everyone else!

This little girl went from 'no! no pitchures!' and hiding from the three cameras trying to capture her unique outfit, to modeling for us in no time... of course we were busting out laughing that at one point she told us to  "shhhh... gotta be quiet, Owo's sleepin'" Oh how I love that girl!
