this and that and an announcement

So I realize I have left some wondering what our little family is up to since I have become horrible at blogging lately. My computer stays away while Peyton is up, and when he is asleep I am usually sleeping, cleaning, or spending time with my man. I'll try to do better. That's all I can promise.

We have been up to a lot lately. ;) We went to a Lakers vs Bobcats basketball game last month. Drew and I had great seats thanks to our tax return, and it was a wonderful evening getaway!

I left my baby overnight over two nights while we took our teens on a ski trip. It was hard but I was so grateful for my time with the teens! We had a great time even though sleeping with a bunch of middle school girls = way more giggles than sleep. I'm okay with that though. ;) It had been a while since Drew and I had been skiing (We have been together for 9 years and have never been skiing together, just to give you a clue) but we remembered pretty quickly. I had forgotten how wonderful it was flying down a hill with the wind on your face, white all around you, and how quiet it is! We went for a conference and I think everyone agreed that the speakers/band were wonderful!

Drew finished up the church basketball league, and while they didn't win very much, he had a great time playing and Peyton and I loved watching!!

Drew and I will both graduate from Liberty in May. He will have his masters in discipleship and I will finally have my bachelors in biblical studies. I think we are both ready to be finished!!

We miss Roanoke a lot but are settling in to life in Mount Airy pretty well. I can't wait til I know how to get everywhere and have memories to mark different places of town!

I guess the biggest news lately is......

WE'RE GOING TO HAVE ANOTHER BABY!!

I know it's hard to believe. Feels a little like I just did this, but we are so excited for this new addition, coming around October 11. So far my 1st trimester has been really similar to my one with Peyton, which = sleepy, dizzy, and nauseous. It could definitely be so much worse so I am grateful. My doctor does think I already have diabetes again so I said hello to my meter and low-carb diet and goodbye to my cookies and Doritos. May I just say that having diabetes while in the first trimester of sickness is not easy! My way of keeping nausea at bay is to snack... a lot. ;) I am thankful that God has helped me eat well for my baby since left to my own devices I stray, often.

God has been so good to us and we are thrilled to be able to be a part of his bigger picture!

The craziness that is our life

This summer flew by, and fall seems to be doing the same! I really thought I would get better at blogging when I had a kid to talk about, but turns out I have less time now due to all the snugglin' of that kid.

Peyton is growing so fast, it's all I can do to cling onto each moment before he is off doing something new and exciting. He is crawling, and walking around furniture. He loves cheerios and jabbering about who knows what. He loves going room to room exploring and playing with his toys - although his favorite is by far car keys.

We have been busy celebrating birthdays. Audrey turned FOUR on the 12th. We went to the pumpkin patch and had cupcakes, had lots of snuggles and played with fwiends. [I had my 'five' kiddos in one spot and can I just say I was in heaven!] The weather was perfect and Jeremy bought us deep fried oreos. Pure Perfections!

We also celebrated my 25th birthday last Sunday. This is my first birthday with little man and waking up to him and my man 'singing' happy birthday with a candle was the best! What better way to wake up! Drew got me an iPhone which I am already in love with due to seeing people's faces while talking to them! I know, I'm a few years behind, I've never used this thing called Skype but I'm a fan. Drew also showed of his patience and creative skills by making me a card with our 'family tree' on the front. After many tries he successfully got Peyton's hand print on it! What a guy.

We have also made many trips to Winston-Salem to see my family. Audrey had a Pinkalicious party, who wouldn't want to attend that?!? :) I LOVED spending the day with the birthday girl, her mama and brother. Then that evening we headed to a fall festival where the kiddos were Buzz, Woody, and miss ladybug and I got to get brother hugs from Jeremy! (excuse the phone pics, I left my camera at home)

Drew and I finished our first 8 weeks of the school semester. I only have 3 classes left until I am DONE with my bachelors! I am taking theology of the family and humanities this coming 8 weeks. Then all I have is a basic math class this spring and I am finished! YAY! Drew is still trucking away at his Masters in Discipleship and should finish this spring, although he might have to take one class this summer. He of course isn't just passing, but acing all of his classes. He is one of those sicking people who loves to learn and grades come easy for him. I say 'good for you, get your doctorate and roll in the dough!' HaHa, that's funny you see because in the ministry you're never really 'rolling in the dough.' :)

Peyton also celebrated his friend Kaehlen's first birthday party. We sure do love her and her parents!!

We've been super busy enjoying life. I'm sure there is more to tell for another day but for now, I'm off to relax a few moments before my cutie wakes up!

39

Drew and I try to make money other than our main jobs. Drew cleans several pools in the valley for my Dad's business. He wakes up early every day from Memorial Day to Labor Day to check chemicals, clean bathrooms, vacuum, blow decks off, etc... I can no longer to that because I have to be at work too early in the mornings.

Thankfully, God has provided another random job for me which I love! I took a photography class last fall and LOVE taking pictures. Since that time, My dad has asked me to take pictures of some of the softball tournaments that are at his sports complex. I enjoy being outside, taking pictures, and watch some good players while I do it! :) This Wednesday - Saturday was the NCCAA tournament which was a national christian college tournament.

I finished classes Friday so I was writing papers and taking tests this past week.

Drew sold his Volvo, bought a Lancer after driving to NC to get it, and then had to put the Lancer in the shop... all last week. Thankfully, while the garage we first took the car too said it was going to be a $600 fix, the people we took it too after that, who we trust, said it is most likely nothing. We will know for sure tomorrow. Praise God!

Our friends got married on Friday. It was a fabulous evening!

All of that being said, last week we were pretty busy with those things. You know, working hard and all that jazz. Saturday evening, once we cleaned up we decided to spend some quality time together. We went out to eat, walked around the mall, grocery shopped, and then watched the series finale of Prison Break. It was a much needed break of the 'running around with your chicken cut off' week we had.

hair loss & engagements

Youth volleyball has started and Drew and I are the coaches. We have about half and half on our team as far as experienced/never-played-before players so although we aren't winning all of our games, we are definitely holding our own! I have been so proud at the attitudes of the older teenagers, the veterans. They have been really encouraging to the younger ones, even when I know they really want to win. I can see their maturity and it's wonderful!

I went to a party for my friend who just got engaged! As she introduced me, we are forever friends. Our families grew up together and I just love them so much! That week was so fun because I was able to help her dream/plan.  Seeing her momma was great too since they now live in Houston which is extremely way to far away from here!

I chopped my hair off... and I love it. It's light and swishy and all together wonderful. At least Drew and I think so. Thanks Lauren for getting rid of it!

My friend is leaving to go home in a few weeks. She lives in Indiana and although she is coming back in August, with her new husband (and by new I mean they are getting married in July, not as in she's going home to get a new one) I can't help but be really said she will be gone two months. Our bible study enjoyed throwing her a little shower with goodies and we are so sad we can't go to the wedding! I sure do love you Rebecca! :)

We are hooked on Prison Break right now. Drew and I also seem to be in the middle of some TV show, but we are faithful to watch from beginning to end.... except with Smallville we gave up because it became way to Sci Fi and just down right dumb.

Speaking of TV series, Micheal Scott leaves next week. I may have shed a few tears in this past episode, I-can't-rightly-say.

My friend Mandy just had a baby girl. Her name is Kayleigh, and although I haven't met her in person I already LOVE her! She sure is precious!

School has been completely different from last 8 weeks. Mainly because I'm only taking two classes, and one is a breeze. It's week 5 and Drew finally heard me semi-stress about rushing to get things done. I'd say that's progress from last time.

Mother's Day and Drew's Birthday are coming up... and I've got nothing in the present idea department.... sigh.

My niece knows 'Jesus Love Me' and sings in to the top of her lungs... as beautifully as her aunt and grandma do when they ride in the car. ;) Can't wait to hung that child and her brother's neck on Sunday!!  (You should definitely go over to the Naff News blog to watch the video. I would do a cool link to take you there but... I can't remember how to do such a thing... another sigh.

Easter is Sunday and I'm down-right giddy in love with my Savior right now. I love the fact He paid much to high a price, just so I can live with Him forever. He is my constant and I know that He has the BEST plan for my life. I love that I can trust blindly wherever He leads. Thank you Jesus for dying for me. Thank you also for conquering the grave!!
