Date #18 - food, ice cream, office

Tonight we spent the evening talking, (A lot.) and then laughing. (A lot.) We vacuumed out my car, and then headed to dinner. We were going to try Cheddar's but for some reason Famous Anthony's sounded good to Drew so that's where we headed. It was actually amusing thinking back when the two of us waited tables there. Oh the memories. :) Then, since Bruster's was across the street, Drew twisted my arm because he wanted to go get ice cream SO BAD! Okay, so he didn't get anything, but it's ice cream. I don't think I have to explain myself every time I each it. :) We have watched the office from the beginning, and found the 6th season on Netflix so we spent the rest of the evening watching it. Oh how I enjoy those people and how they make me smile.

Date #17 - shopping... a frustrating experience

Don't judge me. I may have made a mistake on Sunday. We got back from a fall retreat at Lakeside (pictures to follow) and all of our things REEKED of campfire smoke. I wanted to get a start on laundry so I threw all my jackets/sweatshirts in the washer and rushed out the door to youth group. When I got back I realized I'm not-so-bright sometimes. I washed my wool American Eagle jacket even though I KNEW (well, way in the back of my brain) that it was dry-clean only. Boo. :( Let's just say it didn't make it. I loved that jacket.

So Drew wanted to go buy me another one for our date night this week. I hate shopping for coats! I did after several hours of looking, find a poofy jacket at Marshalls. Ralph Lauren for $50. Not too shabby. Now I have never been a "poofy jacket wearer" before, mainly because I am always SEVERAL years behind the trends. I never think they look right on me until it is so 3 years ago. That's okay though because it's comfy and warm. Well worth spending date night looking for a coat. Hopefully the fact it's white will not make me regret my decision!!

Speaking of fashion, I have finally decided I must have converse shoes because they are cute and look comfy. So with my birthday money I bought PINK converse and it makes me HAPPY!! :)

Starting the week off right

Thankful Monday is here again.. I can't believe how fast time is going!!

1. My God has kept me safe and healthy for 23 years. I'd say that's a blessing.
2. Wacky teenagers that make standing in line at Scaremare for 3 hours fun. (even if it's exhausting)
3. Laughter. Life is SOOO much better with it!
4. Stromboli. Yummm.
5. Being productive. People may think that being lazy is wonderful, but I always end up more in a panic when the laziness ends. Not Fun.
6. Rain... I always seem cozier when it rains. :)
7. The thought of starting a new bible study... makes my heart happy!
8. A new straightner that is FAST and makes my hair super straight!

I have amazing friends!!

I had a great birthday celebrating with friends. I started out spending the day with Mason and Kylee and ended with some of my favorite people. Starr made my favorite meal (chicken and dressing casserole) and mom made a great cake (chocolate with cream cheese icing)! We watched you tube videos and played taboo. Yes, I know it was laid back, and I LOVED IT!!

Drew enjoyed playing with Lucy... even though he doesn't like cats. She is pretty great.

It sure was a pretty birthday!!

A piece of a love letter

I have decided to start sharing a piece of a love letter I have received every Sunday. You guys can come up with a cool name for it if you want. I am NOT creative and therefore the only thing that came to mind is 'Scripture Sunday". Dumb. Anyway, I have realized that although I want to share what God has been teaching me, sometimes life gets in the way. I CAN spend 2 minutes typing a verse that has been close to my heart that week. Not only is it good to absorb all God has given me, but it's also accountability to make sure I am getting excited about Him and sharing that. YES, God's word is my love letter, but it's also yours. Sometimes, I feel sick at how I could not get THRILLED to read over it daily!! Anywho, I may not go into detail as to why these verses are important. But they are, to each of us.

Psalm 107:28-31
Then they cry out to the LORD in their trouble, And He brings them out of their distresses. He calms the storm, So that its waves are still. Then they are glad because they are quiet; So He guides them to their desired haven, Oh that men would give thanks to the LORD for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men!

Date #16 - Birthday Lunch

Drew invited me for lunch on my birthday. So I dressed Kylee up, and we went out on a date with my man. :) It had to be early, before I had to get Mason from school but it was fun! O'Charley's sweet potato fries, salad, bread, and brownie and ice cream definitely hit the spot!!
